ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to an internal team promotion, we are looking to hire a new Finance Assistant to join our London based Finance Department. The department consists of 19 people, led by a Director of Finance, and 4 Managers, split across client accounting/office accounting, revenue control, finance systems and reporting/accounting.

This full time (35hr a week), Finance Assistant role would see you working within the department’s client accounting/office accounting team, reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, and working closely with 6 other finance professionals. You will be working with both the client and office account transactions including but not limited to, AP Invoices, client and office payments and receipts, client account transfers, supplier reconciliations and expense claims.

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Posting of all firm invoices and reconciling supplier statements via Chrome River
  • Posting of counsel fees and reconciling fee notes
  • Dealing with office receipts and ensuring all disbursements are paid out
  • Client receipts and payments
  • Client account transfers.

ABOUT YOU

This role would suit someone with some prior experience either in a similar role or an entry level finance administration role within a law firm. Additionally, if you have a background in legal administration, with exposure to processing invoices/client bills, (alongside a love for numbers!), and enjoy the challenge of juggling deadlines and maintaining a high degree of accuracy (when it comes to data entry), this would be an ideal role.

The client accounting/office accounting team deal with requests, questions and workflows from all areas of our firm, so you must have a passion for people and providing excellent client care.

Interview (in person at our London office)

This will be with the Director of Finance and the Finance Manager responsible for the client accounting/office accounting team. They will discuss your interest in the role, what you are looking for professionally, and ask some competency/behavioural questions that relate to the key skills/behaviours needed for this position.

We will also ask you to complete a technical test, related to the duties of the role.

Offer of employment

If you are successful and accept our offer of employment, we will submit your details to our background screening company (Giant), who will conduct a series of background checks. Once these have been completed and we have separately validated your proof of right to work in the UK, a start date can be agreed, and your onboarding schedule can be planned.
