ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has risen for a Senior Associate to join our growing Leasehold Enfranchisement Residential (LER) department at the London office. This is a new role focusing on growing the high-net-worth residential conveyancing practice that the team currently have.

In this role you will get the chance to:

  • Manage your own case load of conveyancing matters, as in line with CQS regulations
  • Mentor and delegate to other members of the team when needed
  • Use your business development skills to attract new residential conveyancing work and leverage your established contacts
ABOUT YOU

This role will be ideal for someone who is looking to further develop and establish their reputation as an expert in the residential conveyancing market. With support from our excellent business services teams and a supportive head of department, the vacancy will provide the right individual with the opportunity to build a practice and develop a business case for partnership at the firm.

Your profile:

  • A strong technical background and key experience in residential property and conveyancing, acting on complex transactions for high-net-worth clients.
  • You find BD and client networking highly rewarding and look to build on this both internally and across the market.
  • You have previous experience managing and mentoring other team members and providing technical support when needed.
  • Able to build effective relationships with the team and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, with an interest in the sectors in which we operate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of different audiences and clients.
  • Excellent IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with a love for exploring how technology can streamline processes.
  • We are not expecting a client following, but you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have a list of contacts to help build up your practice.

1st interview (via Teams)

At this stage, you will get the chance to learn more about the role, the firm and also to ask any questions you may have. This online interview will be with our Recruitment Manager, who will be asking you a series of competency-based questions aligned to the behaviours/skills needed to be successful in this vacancy.

 Every candidate who reaches this stage will be told if they have been successful or not in progressing to the next stage.

Final Interview (In person at our London office)

Your final interview will be with a senior team member, the Head of LER and another partner from the Private Client department. They will focus on your motivations to join us and your experience as a lawyer. This will be a great opportunity to gain further insight into the role and team dynamics. You will be asked further competency/behavioural based questions as well as some technical questions relating to the role. It will also be a good chance to ask any final questions you may have. 

Every candidate who reaches this stage will be offered the chance to have a feedback call with our Recruitment Manager to understand why they weren't offered the position, so that you can use this feedback to help with other job applications.

Offer of employment

If you are successful and accept our offer of employment, we will submit your details to our background screening company (Giant), who will conduct a series of background checks. Once these have been completed and we have separately validated your proof of right to work in the UK, a start date can be agreed, and your onboarding schedule can be planned.
