ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join our highly regarded Commercial Real Estate and Licensing department at our London office. This role specialises in the telecoms sector, working with some of the largest telecom clients across the UK market.

In this role you will get the chance to:

  • Draft, negotiate and complete leases and licences to document the installation and use of masts on new and existing sites.
  • Issue proceedings at court or the Tribunal to seek rights under the Telecoms Code.
  • Advise clients on the notices to be served under the Telecoms Code (whether that be to renew existing occupation or acquire new rights).
  • Instruct Counsel to prepare pleadings for Court proceedings.
  • Advise clients on notices to quit and notices received under the Telecoms Code (where an operator is being asked to vacate land).
  • Attend client meetings/calls on a daily basis.
ABOUT YOU

This role will be ideal for either someone who has a good grounding in commercial real estate, and is looking to gain practical experience and specialise in the Telecoms area, or for someone who has experience working within the telecoms legal sector.

Your profile:

  • Previous experience on either telecoms matters or general real estate legal work.
  • Strong legal technical knowledge tailored to clients’ needs.
  • Looking for a new challenge in a supportive, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Some commercial understanding (how your matters are scoped and priced.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, with an interest in the sectors in which we operate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of different audiences.
  • Excellent IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with a love for exploring how technology can streamline processes.

1st interview (via Teams)

At this stage, you will get the chance to learn more about the role, the firm and also to ask any questions you may have. This online interview will be with a Partner from the telecoms team and our Recruitment Manager, who will be asking you a series of competency-based questions aligned to the behaviours/skills needed to be successful in this vacancy.

Every candidate who reaches this stage will be told if they have been successful or not in progressing to the next stage.

Final Interview (In person at our London office)

During your final interview, you will get the opportunity to meet the partner from the 1st interview in person and the head of our Commercial Real Estate & Licensing department. This will be a great opportunity to gain further insight into the role and team dynamics. You will be asked further competency/behavioural based questions as well as some technical questions relating to the role. It will also be a good chance to ask any final questions you may have. 

Every candidate who reaches this stage will be offered the chance to have a feedback call with our Recruitment Manager to understand why they weren't offered the position, so that you can use this feedback to help with other job applications.

Offer of employment

If you are successful and accept our offer of employment, we will submit your details to our background screening company (Giant), who will conduct a series of background checks. Once these have been completed and we have separately validated your proof of right to work in the UK, a start date can be agreed, and your onboarding schedule can be planned.
