As an integral part of a highly regarded team providing for the legal needs of 8 Church of England dioceses and many other charitable clients, the successful candidate will:

• undertake an exceptional variety of high quality property transactions including charity property disposals and acquisitions, commercial leases, assisting with major development projects and a range of unusual and interesting instructions
• take a lead  in supporting and developing the client relationship with a key diocesan client
• provide advice across a wide range of legal disciplines, including property, ecclesiastical, charity and trust law

• be committed to working with and developing long-term relationships with church and charity clients

• have a good, up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the Church of England

• have the strong intellectual capacity needed to be able to deal with the full range of legal challenges this role brings

• be eager to develop a broad base of legal skills and experience

• be pragmatic and flexible

• be confident and have good presentation skills

• want to make a distinctive contribution to the life of our clients

• understand the commercial pressures of working in private legal practice
